​Sail Canada sets standards for the race officials in Canada. The year’s course will provide candidates training in the following areas:

• Assistant Race Officer (ARO): An Assistant Race Officer can assist in the running of a race as a member of the Race Committee crew of the regatta.  Certification is handled by the PSA and requires successful completion of the 4-hour clinic.

• Club Race Officer (CRO): A Club Race Officer is (CRO) manages the “on water” activities of regattas at club level.  Certification is handled by the PSA and requires successful completion of the 12-hour Sail Canada CRO Race Management Course and a record of practical experience in Race Committee organization.

**To be considered certified, candidates must successfully complete this race management course. Upon successful completion, candidates must provide a record of practical experience as a member of a recognized race committee to be awarded certification**
